Russell Crowe Mourned The Death Of His Puppy To Tears: “We are somewhat devastated”

Russell Crowe mourns death of his puppy who died in his arms after being hit by a truck: ‘He stole my heart’

A day that is already a hard and sad day for actor Russell Crowe just got much more awful. On March 30, which is the anniversary of his father’s (John Alexander Crowe) passing, his adored 16-month-old Papillon called Louis was hit by a vehicle.

Heartbroken Crowe took to Twitter to share the tragic news and said, “Tiny, cheeky, fearless. He won my heart. Tragically today, on the second anniversary of my fathers passing, Louis was hit by a vehicle. We attempted to bring him to the vet, but he died in my arms as I was telling him how much we loved him.”

A photo of the cute butterfly-eared puppy accompanied the upsetting message. Friends and followers took to the comments to share their sympathies.

Another actor and producer, Vincent D’Onofrio, added, “So sorry to hear this Russel. My heart goes out to you.”

Irish singer-songwriter Janet Devlin commented, “My condolences 🙏🏻🥺 he was such a beautiful little man! Sending all my love x”.

During an appearance with The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday the 58-year-old actor started to cry when asked about his pet Louis.

According to Daily Mail, when Crowe was asked whether he was fine, he answered with tears in his eyes, “No, we’re actually a bit devastated.”

He went on to remark, “He was such a gorgeous little pup you know and kind of wrapped us around him and formed our life around him. So, it’s going take a little time to get past.”

Losing a dog, no matter how long you have him/her, is just as hard as losing a family member since they are part of the family from the day you bring them home.
