This stray dog was found laying on the side of the road, unable to move. Folks passing by stopped to have a look and soon found out that the dog had been hit by a car and was paralyzed. They quickly phoned the local animal rescue group.
The rescue team arrived at the site and found the dog in a condition of distress. He was shaking and his eyes were filled with anxiety. They instantly understood that he was in grave condition and needed rapid medical assistance. The rescue team phoned the owner, who was obstinate and refused to pay for the dog’s care. He informed them that he would sooner abandon the dog than pay for his upkeep.
Feeling helpless, the rescue team took the dog in and brought him to a nearby veterinarian. The vet checked the dog and found that he had a fractured spine and needed surgery to restore it. The rescue team, who had gotten close to the dog, opted to pay for the surgery themselves and christened him Lucky. The surgery was a success and Lucky was on the road to recovery.
But, he was nonetheless paralyzed and needed physical treatment to regain the use of his hind legs. The rescue team was determined to save Lucky and began working with him every day, gently enabling him to regain his strength.
He transformed from being an anxious and scared dog to one who was full of activity and enjoyment. He would run and play with the other dogs, wagging his tail and barking with excitement. Lucky lived through the rest of his days contentedly, never having to worry about being abandoned or abused again.
