Fans all across the world are mourning the death of Matthew Perry, who died at the age of 54 this weekend.
Perry was best recognised for his role as Chandler Bing on the long-running comedy Friends, and he was close to his co-stars.
Following the actor’s passing, one of his Friends co-stars is apparently interested in adopting Perry’s dog.
Matthew Perry’s death is devastating in so many ways, including the fact that he left behind his beloved companion dog Alfred.
Perry debuted his pet doodle mix in January 2021 with an Instagram image that wowed fans: “Who’s cuter? “Don’t respond,” the actor wrote.
Alfred would undoubtedly miss his owner after his death. Dogs are highly emotional intelligent animals who appear to understand when their owners die — sometimes even mourning by their graveyard.
It’s unclear who is caring for Alfred in the aftermath of Perry’s death, but one of Perry’s Friends co-stars is interested in stepping forward to take the dog in.
A source close to Lisa Kudrow, who portrayed Phoebe on the show, told The Daily Mail that she is interested in adopting Alfred following Perry’s funeral.
“Lisa and the cast will all be there for his funeral.” “Lisa is also thinking about taking in his beloved dog Alfred,” a source claimed.
Perry’s death was reportedly alleged to have “baffled” Kudrow. Throughout his career, the actor struggled with alcohol and opiate addiction, although he had been sober in recent years.
One year before his untimely death, Matthew Perry expressed his desire to be remembered.
During the conversation, fans praised Matt LeBlanc for having Matthew Perry’s back.
A buddy of Matthew Perry noticed a devastating warning sign hours before his tragic demise.
Perry’s body was discovered in his hot tub. There were no illegal narcotics discovered at the site, but authorities did discover prescription antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds. While no official cause of death has been declared, his co-stars believe they may have had a role.
“Although no one wants to believe it was medication – prescribed or not – of course that is a thought in their minds,” a source familiar with the matter told Daily Mail. “They are thinking he must have taken something that did not mix with the warm water.”
Friends cast members had an incredibly tight bond both on and off screen, and Perry’s co-stars supported him throughout his substance misuse struggles.
“It’s a hideous disease, and he has a tough version of it,” Kudrow told the New York Times last year. “What’s not changing is his will to keep going, keep fighting and keep living.”
“I adore Matthew.” We are members of a family. I’m pretty sure I’m going to end this with ‘I’ll be there for you,’ but it’s real. I’ll be there for him at all times.”
It’s unclear whether Kudrow would adopt Alfred, but it would be a sweet parting gesture to her Friends co-star to ensure his dog’s well-being.
