Selling pets is a practice that has caused innumerable worries for animal lovers. Several kennels do not take into account the most basic hygienic procedures and have hundreds of dogs or cats living in the worst conceivable circumstances.
“No animal should live in the middle of such horrible surroundings,” the rescuers stated.
Evidence of this is the terrible existence that hundreds of pups had at a kennel in Arkansas . Rescuers from the Humane Society of the United States acquired information about the site and quickly began working with local authorities to rescue the dogs.
At the illegal kennel there were over 300 pups, all in terrible circumstances.
With all their years of expertise, these animal lovers have experienced sad scenarios . But, they never stop being moved by the furry ones screaming for help.
Upon arrival, it didn’t take long for them to discover a very unique puppy. He was a small German shepherd that crawled through the dirt to get to rescuers .
“I still recall Daniel creeping about in that dark shed. It was difficult for him to move in the center of the dirt and excrement yet he wanted to seek for help. He wanted to live,” said Jessica Lauginiger, one of the rescuers.
They expected that he would have trouble with his limbs but the fact was that he was so weak that he just could not walk. The lovely cub appeared to comprehend that these people had come to help him and he crawled to make sure he was not left behind.
His first months of existence had been quite difficult, but he was eager to strive to regain his vigor.
“It continues to develop and is growing stronger. He enjoys being the center of attention and he deserves all the love he’s getting,” Lauginiger rejoiced.
The almost 300 dogs saved that day were distributed around local shelters to help them obtain veterinary treatment. Daniel was entrusted to the Great Plains SPCA Foundation.
Daniel is going to turn four years old.
Over time he proved that he was a puppy full of activity and that he needed a home where he could receive a lot of love and that was just what they found.
Daniel was adopted by a loving Missouri family.
We raise our voices against the farms that inflict so much harm to the animals. No living person deserves to be regarded as a simple commodity. Daniel’s tale is a crucial reminder that we should encourage pet adoption, not selling.
